In continuing with my informal updates, I figured I’d write about the first week of being in business.

While there were some hiccups and a last minute change, overall it was a great week! Getting back out in the market and doing what I love was the best. For so long, I was doing desk work and stuck inside doing prep work to set myself up for success, but that paid off. I still have desk work, just not all day blocks of it.

I was able to visit several accounts I called on in the past, and even some new ones. I feel excited and energized to go out and sell products that I have so much faith in. Whether it is Moonlight Meadery or The Indiana Whiskey Co, both brands are strong and quality items. I realize that I am fortunate to meet so many enthusiastic purchasers at these accounts too. Its like I get to see a bunch of friends around Indy and surrounding areas while working.

Somehow, I missed the note that Moonlight Meadery was rated Meadery of the Year in 2015. If Ben or Michael are reading this, oops… Not sure how it was overlooked, but definitely a great thing to know. I already knew several products had 90+ scores on RateBeer, but, being meadery of the year is just the cherry on top. Virtue was definitely my pick of the week for products in the Monon portfolio.

Indiana Whiskey Co is even the Crown Liquor Barrel of the Month for October! That says a great deal about a product if they can have a solid relationship with a chain like Crown. Michael distills some great things, and I am curious what he is able to do next! I have mentioned it before, and I will mention it again, but I love that these guys donate 3% of profits to local veterans.

What’s next? If October wasn’t exciting enough, then look out November! I should be adding a couple new brands to my portfolio, and I should start doing events at different venues more regularly. I wanted to get my feet under me before I started booking weekly events with different venues. If you have an idea for an event, let me know! Having multiple products makes for a fun way to combine events.
